Sad departure

Yesterday was the memorial day of my darling cat Hagi.
After she's gone, she has sent lovely kittens to look after our family.

And I heard the news that Tama the famous cat station master
died on monday.
She must be sad to leave her human family but very happy to see her
mom and sisters in Kitty heaven.
Tama, you are infinite light.

My little Ninja Cat

I have been reading Erin Hunter's
Warriors series which gave me
this inspiration what my cat might be
doing when she goes out during the night.

Kimono cat

To become a Kimono beauty,
you need to have a certain figure.
Pettit, narrow & slant shoulder,
no bumps & curves yet not so skinny.
These days, even Japanese girls
rarely have this kind of figure.
Cats might be the only creature fit
into this description.

Waiting for the sunshine

It's winter here.
And our land is covered with
a long rainy cloud.
Neighbour's beautiful lawn has
turned into a paddle.
Our cats seemed to got tired of
staying at home all day long and
they decided to go out.
I'm sure they'll be coming back like
kids after swimming lessons.

Ladies day

When I went to Japan a couple of years ago,
I saw this rose poster at the train station.
Instantly, I thought I had to see this exhibition.

But I was with my elderly mother who had
a knee problem at the time.
There was no way she can walk to the museum.
So I asked her to wait at the station
and ran to the museum all by myself.

The show was so wonderful!
Many master pieces done by
Redoute and Parsons were breath taking.
And the rooms of this show was  actually
filled with rose scent infusing through
air conditioners.
Such a great idea by curators.

I still don't know what was the special occasion though
the day I visited the museum was " Ladies day " and
every female visitors got a free pass.

Daffodil

Daffodils bring gorgeous scent of

spring.

Quietly but surely.

Gold fish would be dazzled

if they could swim amongst

these spring beauties.

Dahlia

I like bulb and tuber flowers.
Once they were planted into the soil,
come out to say " hello "
year after year.

The second teapot aquarium captured
sweet dahlias.

My secret passion

I have a thing with teapots.

And I also have been dreaming about

having my own waterlily pond with gold fish.

Ohhh!

This is just what I wanted !?

Not quite.

But  it's fun to have teapot aquariums.

A year on and new beginnings

This is the last healthy image of our Cathedral.

Christchurch was hit by massive earthquake in September 2010.
And have been suffering waves of continuous aftershocks.
City was recovering from Boxing Day aftershock and
no one was expecting what to come on 22nd of February.

We lost many lives, buildings and other things. Yet we found our inner strength, kindness and
true beauty of ourselves. People we loved and things we cherished are keep on living inside us.
And we will live to make them proud.

We love Christchurch OXOX

Caffeine

at the Brooklyn Art Library.
It would be a great fun visiting this exhibition seeing all the fantastic work.

This is one of my sketches from the sketchbook project work.

And I've been re-working on it using water colour.
This looks more like Caffeine the cat himself.

Digitally collaged with vintage coffee ads.
